Big, bigger, Titanic

Welcome back to the Armoury folks.

Last November I finally got my grubby little hands on Adeptus Titanicus, one of the recent Specialist Games released by Games Workshop.

Pitting Titan against Titan against the backdrop of the Horus Heresy, Titanicus triggered my hobby-senses in all the right places, so, with my gaming regulars Thor & Sam, we launched ourselves into a new game, and new hobby challenge.

I'll be talking you through the contents of the box after the break!

What has it got in it's pocketses?

New year, new attempt?

Well hello again. Long time no see, and all that.

There's a certain irony in play if one's last blogpost is about staying focused, after which, for almost 10 months, I could't get my focus around writing another blogpost...

Anyone up for another try?

Short re-cap of the last 10 months of my hobby-life after the break y'all!

Pile of projects!

Welcome again to the Armoury!

Today, I'm coming out to you all. I am most definitely a 'hobby butterfly'.

I always have a ton of projects that I work on somewhat, but never really get to finish. While that does not really bother me as such, it does take away that fantastic feeling of looking at a finished model, or army, or bit of terrain that is completely finished. In my case, it also means I have models lying around everywhere, which can be annoying if you need to look for something specific. Fair to say, the missus isn't always as amused by that particular part either...

There's a few ways to mitigate the butterfly-syndrome however, which we'll get to after the break.

The Battle of Prospero - Invasion

Hi again folks!

A word of warning is in order at the start of this post. It will be a long one. There will be pictures. There will be a massive amount of fluff-crime...

Following up on our prelude game I talked about in the last post here, my friend Thor and I have had a proper go at one-another in the first of 3 phases of the Prospero Campaign from Forgeworld.

In this campaign, I'm playing the Space Wolves' retribution force come to bring the Thousand Sons legion to justice for defying the will of the Emperor of Mankind!
Those of you familiar with the story, I'm sorry.
Those of you not familiar, the actual story is nothing like ours...

Headlong into Heresy!

Welcome again!

In today's post, we'll get to some of the ongoing hobby projects that are currently on my desk (my wife will be quick to point out that they are, in fact, scattered all over the bloody house, but let's not get into that kind of specifics, shall we?)

As stated before, I'm a big fan of miniature games. I've been playing Warhammer 40k for over 15 years, played a bit of Warhammer Fantasy/Age of Sigmar, dabbled in Warmachine/Hordes and played the occasional game of Dystopian Wars. That implies a lot of little plastic soldiers!

Aside the playing of the occasional standalone game, I find great joy in narrative games and campaigns, which is exactly what this post is going to about!

What's in a name

“There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Il├║vatar; and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offspring of his thought, and they were with him before aught else was made.”

J.R.R. Tolkien.

Coming out strong with a quote by a famous writer should mask the fact that I'm absolutely clueless about how to start this blog.

I suppose I'll start with a few basic questions..

Demogorgon, as sculpted by Charles Woods.
Aameul is that charming left head.
